COMEC 2025

The Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg / Germany and the Universidad Central Marta Abreu de Las Villas in Santa Clara / Cuba are linked by a contractual partnership that has been intensively practised for over 40 years. Every two years, the two mechanical engineering faculties jointly organise an international mechanical engineering conference in Cuba, the next is:

This conference is part of the

V International Scientific Conference on Science, Technology, and Society - UCLV 2025

It emphasizes a scientific conference at eye level, which initiates and maintains a close connection between industrialized, emerging and developing countries.

For this reason, the conference contributions are predominantly on topics that are not only relevant for industrialized countries and require a perfect infrastructure and high investment projects as a prerequisite, but specifically on topics where subsequent use of the results in South America and cooperation in the basic field or in special, sustainable fields of application make sense. The focus is on win-win results now or in the aftermath of the conference. At the same time, individual social contacts are to be established.

The conference also offers formats for bilateral and multilateral exchanges with the participating international universities and colleges as well as industry representatives for intensive discussions.

Anyone interested in active academic co-operation that is meaningful for all sides is very welcome! At the same time, our host impresses with its beautiful nature, the mix of the flair of the 1960s and the present,
as well as very warm and hospitable people.

At the moment, the economic situation in Cuba is difficult and has been reported in the press. However, with the intensive support of our colleagues from the universities in Miskolc and Bratislava, we will endeavour to hold our conference in line with the requirements of an international conference.
